Digital vs. Offset & Applications

Choose digital printing if you need a smaller quantity, faster turnaround, or customised prints. Offset is best if you’re ordering larger quantities or require very specific spot/PMS colours.

We can print on paper stock ranging from 60gsm to card stock up to 350gsm. Products include business cards, booklets, flyers, menus, calendars and more.

Technical Specifications & File Handling

PDF files are preferred for the most reliable results. We also accept Adobe Illustrator (with outlined fonts and embedded images JPEG and PNG files (resolution not lower than 300dpi). High resolution files need to be supplied in CMYKwith 3mm bleed and crop marks.

Yes, you can use Canva to set up artwork for printing, but make sure to export your design as a high-quality PDF with the correct bleed and resolution for best results.

For best quality, images should be at least 300 dpi at actual print size. Always use CMYK colour mode rather than RGB to match print colours accurately.

What is bleed, trim, and safety areas? How should files be set up?

  • Bleed: Extra image area (usually 3mm) beyond the trim to avoid white edges.
  • Trim: The final cut size of your product.
  • Safety area: Keep important text/logos at least 3mm inside the trim line to avoid accidental cutting.

Colour, Proofing & Consistency

We provide free digital (PDF) proofs. For colour-critical projects, we recommend hard copy printed proofs for a small extra cost. It is the customer’s responsibility to let us know if their job is colour critical.

Steven and other team members of Fine Print went above and beyond when we needed to get the booklet printing done on such short notice. They helped us with the artwork and bleeding adjustments and also replaced the misspelled sheet in less than two hours for us as we required the printing to be done urgently. Well done and we can't thank you enough. Highly recommended.
